Outdoor play is so important to us at Twinkle and we spend as much time outdoors as we can. We believe children learn better in the outdoor environment where they are able to explore and investigate more freely. The outdoor environment enables children to really develop their imagination, buildings ships out of crates, making perfume in the mud kitchen, building fairy houses out of twigs and making nests for lady birds are a regular occurrence in a Twinkle day!
Children are provided with all in one puddle suits so that they can jump in puddles and watch the rain! We are very lucky to have a large enclosed garden at Twinkle with a huge variety of resources and open ended activities! There is a vegetable patch for the children to maintain, a beautiful sensory house that the children access with their key worker as well as sand, water, paints, bikes and many more exciting things.
Being outdoors enables children to enjoy the natural environment, experience fresh air, get exercise and generally be healthy! Children can run, jump, climb and enjoy the freedom of being a child! We love the outdoors!!
